At UDC Studios, dance lessons are life lessons.
Through dance training, our students learn the intangibles such as respect, leadership, goal–setting, perseverance, pride, and esteem.
UDC Studio (Formally Urban Dance Co.) formed in August of 2001. Our New Facility contains 2 state of the art dance studio's both over 1000 Square feet, with new Rosco Adagio Dance floor- studio's are equipped with Ballet Bars, Mirrors, and sound systems as well as student lounge & dressing rooms, Parents waiting area, and our administration office.
Our classes start at 3 Years of age. We also offer Competition classes and recreational classes. The faculty of UDC Studio ensures all students are taught in a fun and friendly atmosphere, while learning, respect, dedication, and the love of dance. Our programs are designed for both competitive and recreational Dancers in all disciplines and levels.

Having been a Dance Mom of 2 kids who are still dancing and competing for UDC Studio for 10 years now , Meilei understands the hard work, time and commitment it takes to manage a successful studio.

Melissa Medalla started dancing at the age of 13 and has competed and performed throughout North America and Europe including, The International Edegem Folk Festival in Belgium and for the launch of A.D.I.D.A.S. Porche Line in Vancouver, BC. She has won numerous awards at competitions and dance conventions including winning silver at the Hip Hop International Dance Championships in August 2013. During the 2010 Winter Olympics she performed with the Surrey Celebration Dance Team in front of thousands at many events including the Olympic Torch Relay. Melissa has traveled and studied throughout North America in which she broadened her knowledge in contemporary, ballroom, ballet, and jazz. She teaches in the lower mainland and currently performs with The Surrey Dance Company and Project Soul Productions.

Sonia Chan has been a part of the Urban Dance Faculty for the past 4 years. Prior to that, she had been an active assistant teacher and student at our studio training in many disciplines, including Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary and Hip Hop. In addition to studio training, Sonia has also participated in many conventions to further her training and she has also travelled to LA to learn from some of the best in the business. Sonia has competed and performed in several events across the lower mainland. Her performance credits include, the Vancouver 2010 Ozone, Brilliant, Urban Alchemy, the Main Event and much more.
As a graduate from Urban Dance Company, Sonia continued to train at Harbour Dance Centre. She found an interest in Hip Hop and furthered explored her training with Kill The Lights Dance Company under the direction of Shauna Smith and Ken Yung for two years. She consistently takes class on a weekly basis to broaden her vocabulary of dance to bring to her students. Also, Sonia has appeared in local artist, David Morin's, video "Come Home".
Sonia's passion for dance extends to her love for choreography. She has choreographed solos, duos and groups and has been recognized and awarded for her work. Sonia is excited to bring another year of creativity to her students at Urban Dance Company!

Mary has spent a lifetime of love and passion for dance since her childhood. She has had training in a variety of styles from R.A.D. Ballet , Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical , Contemporary Jazz, Hiphop , Street Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap, and Polynesian.
Mary has trained under Harbour Dance Centre's "Endangered " training program for three seasons.
She is currently one of the Directors of "Honey" a new Sexy Street and hiphop in heels performance training group which launched September 2017. Mary is part of the Harbour Dance Centre faculty teaching in Street styles.
She has danced for the Olympics "Red Mitten Mob" , The Bay , Lise Watier, Taboo, Vancouver Sports Event , Vancity Project , Dreams Take Flight, Air Canada, and PraiseTEAM's "On Air" and "Spectrum" Shows along with teaching in the Lower Mainland.
Mary has currently graduated from Blanche Macdonald as a Certified Make Up Artist and Hairstylist but has the time to constantly train in dance and share her passion. She is happy to be back at home base to mentor our UDC students.
Jazz, Acro, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hip
Crimson Haslehurst grew up in Vermilion, Alberta and started dancing at the age of four. There she trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Pointe, and Acro. She has completed her ADAPT Intermediate 3 Jazz and Tap exams, also her Cecchetti Intermediate exam in Ballet. Crimson moved to Vancouver to further her dance training at Harbour Dance Centre in the Intensive Training Program under the direction of Moe Brody and the Source Dance Company with Joanne Pesusich.
Crimson is enthusiastic about experiencing new opportunities and is always excited to learn. She loves to share her new knowledge and ideas with others she works with. With a strong technical background, Crimson emphasizes the importance of proper body alignment and positioning. She encourages her students by providing personalized feedback and making the studio a fun place to be.
Bailey Madill was born and raised in Kamloops, BC, where she began her training at The Dance Gallery under the direction of Maureen Duggan and Marylou Joseph. After a summer spent at Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, aged 16, she moved to Vancouver to study at The Goh Ballet Academy ,Coastal City Ballet and Richmond Academy of Dance’s professional division. She had the privilege of working with many revered teachers and choreographers during her time in Vancouver. In 2014, Bailey moved to Kelowna to work as a trainee with Ballet Kelowna, under the direction of Simone Orlando. In 2015/16, she had an apprentice contract with Ballet Edmonton, where she performed in many classical and neo-classical works choreographed by director Jorden Morris (formerly of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet). In the last few years she danced in a BOSE headphones commercial, was a dancer in Vancouver Opera’s Turandot, was a guest artist with Richmond Academy of Dance as the Sugar Plum Fairy in their Nutcracker, and most recently spent the winter in Montreal to perform in the Nutcracker and tour throughout Quebec with Ballet Ouest de Montreal. She will be performing this coming fall in the World Premiere of Joshua Beamish’s ‘Giselle’ at The Vancouver Playhouse. Bailey has taught occasionally throughout her performing career, and is excited to continue to explore teaching ballet and sharing her love and knowledge about the art from with the next generation.

Kaitlin started her dance training at the age of 3, since then, she has had the opportunity to learn from many local choreographers such as Joshua Beamish, Kirsten Wickland, Heather Laura Grey, Danielle Gardner, Justine Fraser, Elya Grant, Kristina Linden and Rachael Poirier.
Kaitlin is a competitive dancer herself and is recently the winner of the 2018 BC Provincial for the Modern II category. Her dance accomplishments also include Radix Dance Convention Core Winner 2018, Triple, View Challenge Overall Teen Division Winner, Triple Threat Convention Teen Division Winner, Jump Convention VIP Runner Up, VIP Dance Convention Scholarship Winner, NYCDA Outstanding Dancer runner up. Kaitlin is also qualify to teach Cecchetti ballet up to grade 3.
Kaitlin excels in Ballet, Tap and Jazz modern and contemporary. Kaitlin was also a part of the Reforming Arts Production Youth Group with Justine Fraser and have worked with Joshua Beamish in the Telus Youth Mentorship Project.
Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballet
Charlotte Chan started dancing at the age of 3 and moved to Urban Dance Company at the age of 11. She has trained and competed in diverse styles such as Pointe, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. Her achievements were recognised at various conventions and competitions, having won many awards with her various groups and on her own. Having taken recreational classes, participated in competitive groups and solos, and assisted various teachers in different disciplines in her time at the studio, she is excited to return and hopes that she will be able to share her love for dance with all of her students. After graduating from UDC as a dancer herself, her studies took her to Hong Kong where she trained with the Freshmen dance groups and with some of the top local dancers at various studios. During this time, she co-founded the dance club for her Residential College where dancers of different backgrounds and levels could come together and share their passion. Aside from dance, Charlotte is an elementary school teacher, specializing in primary education. She is excited to continue on her teaching career, both in classrooms and dance studios, encouraging students to challenge themselves and pursue their passions.
Jazz, Hip Hop, K-pop
Dancing has been a part of Nancy’s life since she was young. The realization of her love for performing and being in the spotlight started when she was 11 with traditional Chinese dance. Soon after that, she moved onto ballet, sexy street, grooving, hip hop and kpop. Being on stage is no stranger to Nancy; it's been a huge part of her dance life since day one. Her most memorable project was working with well-known singer, Mr. Andy Hui from Hong Kong, on his concert here in Vancouver, B.C. When she is not on stage she can be found teaching and passing her knowledge of dance to others. This passion has led her to establish herself as a core dancer/choreographer for numerous local and Canada-wide productions over the past 10+ years.
Thomas began dancing in 2007 at the Burnaby Mountain Secondary school's breakdance club. He started competing in 2009 locally and in 2012 began travelling nationally and internationally to places such as Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, New York, Yukon, Toronto, Quebec, Alberta, Kyoto, Shanghai, Taipei, and Singapore, to build his competitive breakin' portfolio.
His teaching experience began in 2011 with S-vibe now called 1-Vibe productions. Since then Thomas have subbed for studios all over the lower mainland and now has classes at Dance Endless, PraiseTEAM, and UnityOne Dance.
His teaching style is very structured and excels at breaking complex moves into small pieces for students to understand better. He brings a similar philosophy to his own approach to this dance."
Sasha began dancing at UDC Studios in 2013 and immediately fell in love with Urban and Hip Hop dance. Since then she has continued her training at the studio, and at dance conventions such as Monsters of Hip Hop in Vancouver, Washington. Now as an alumni, Sasha is incredibly excited to pass down her love and skills learned to the new generation of dancers at UDC!
Ballet, Contemporary, Modern
Annabelle was born and raised in Richmond, BC. She began her
training for professional dance at the age of 5, including ballet, modern, neo-classical, and Chinese dance. Annabelle trained extensively in the Royal Academy of Dance and Vaganova, reaching Advanced level 2 at the Richmond Academy of Dance. She then proceeded to study modern and contemporary dance. She is pursuing her passion for dance professionally at Simon Fraser University, where she will complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honors in modern, contemporary and ballet in the coming year. During the summer of 2017, she attended the Alonzo King Lines Ballet Intensive in San Francisco as well as the local
Arts Umbrella Summer Intensive in Vancouver. As a dancer, Annabelle
has had the opportunity to work with Henry Daniel, Heather Dotto, Josh Beamish, Heather Myers, Sarah Chase, and Judith Garay. Annabelle is passionate about performing dance and hopes to share this love of dance with her students. She believes in hard work, commitment, and most of all, having fun.
